Joint Effort

This evening Mum (Great Grandma Vivien) completed the making up and ribbing for this jumper for Theo.

A joint effort in that I did the knitting of the front and back panels (the easy bit!).

Let's hope it still fits - we will try it next week.

Little and large

The overnight frost and chilly morning caused a frenzy of long-tailed tits at the suet feeder this morning at first light.

A little later on, once a new suet block was in place, there was some competition for the food from the rather larger Great Spotted Woodpecker.  A single long-tailed tit is just visible on the right hand side of the picture.  Quite a difference in size and capacity!

What would Jane say?

In the window of a wine and spirit merchant in Bath today, a product that was new to me - Bath Gin!

Complete with portrait of Jane Austen on the label, it suggests that this is 'Gin of a different persuasion'!

I can't say that I recall any mentions of gin in her books and so I am not sure whether the lady herself would approve!!

Great Spotted Woodpecker

This handsome bird is an occasional visitor to Mum's bird feeder but today he seemed intent on inspecting a wooden trellis below the window.

Not the clearest of pictures I am afraid..

Different Directions

This morning, in order to keep an appointment at the passport office, postponed from last week,  David set off early to Peterborough.

As he had quite a long wait after submitting the paperwork before collecting the passports he had time to explore the historic centre of the city.

My journey today was in a different direction - heading down to Bath to spend some time with Mum and Dad, via Leamington railway station...

Back to the park

Between the rain showers we went back to St Nicholas Park in Warwick, this time armed with some stale bread for the geese, ducks and swans.

Theo was asleep when we started our walk but awake by the time we fed the birds.

When we reached the playground he enjoyed the swings - until the rain started again and we headed for the park cafe.

Seven months

On New Year's Eve, Theo was seven months old.  How quickly the time has gone and how fast he is growing and developing.

At breakfast time Lauren fetched out the appropriate card and he put it to the usual tests..

He still has the cutest little feet on the planet...

It is a very tiring business being seven months old and learning so much, including how to crawl - or at least, how to pull yourself across the floor with a kind of commando crawl.

At tea-time on Friday it all caught up with him...

Sleep tight, Theo!
